Register to Vote or update your information

You can register to vote online if you have an Alaska Driver's License or State ID. If you have one of these click here.

DMV:

When you apply for your Alaskan drivers license, there is an option to register to vote at the same time. You will need proof of person and address. For more information go to this website.

When do Alaskan elections take place?

State primary elections are held on the 1st Tuesday in August. General elections for state & federal seats are held on the 1st Thursday of November.

Municipal elections are held every year on the 1st Tuesday in April.

Vote by mail

For all Municipal elections (meaning Mayoral, Assembly, and Proposition elections) you vote via the mail. This means if you have registered to vote, and your address is correct, your ballot will be delivered to your house. To cast your vote, fill out the ballot, and either post or drop off your ballot. For more detailed information go here.

State and Federal elections are not Vote by Mail.
